The Underground House, Olinda - An earth-sheltered home is nestled into the gentle slope of the landscape in this one-acre garden. Features of the garden include a connected system of ponds, streams and a waterfall; up to 100-year-old European trees, rare shrubs and a rooftop vegetable garden.
The Keatings, Olinda - The scale and setting of this property has inspired a design where expansive view, near and distant, provide a constantly changing backdrop. Wonderful coloured Rhododendrons and Azaleas flank winding pathways.
Puffing Billy, Belgrave to Nobelius Station, Emerald - Experience the grandeur and charm of a first class, steam train whilst savouring a delicious lunch in the fully enclosed, heritage dining carriages of Puffing Billy. Enjoy your two-course meal as you travel through temperate rainforests and wide-open fields with views of Cardinia Reservoir and beyond to Port Phillip Bay.
Nobelius Heritage Park and Museum, Emerald - Tour the world famous Nobelius Nursery of the late 1800’s which inspired a stunning collection of plants grown and sold in the nursery at the time.
“This park is preserved as a remnant of the historic nursery and tree exporter, with many specimens once stocked by the nursery, now a significant feature”
Cashmore Garden - The 2-acre garden is framed by aged Oak trees, but the bulk of it is only 4 years old, created out of cattle paddocks. The design was an iterative process, using a lot of recycled timbers, rusted steel and Castlemaine stone, in constructed elements defining different segments of the garden.
Karwarra Australian Plant Garden, Kalorama - Guests return to Karwarra for a glass of wine and hors-d'oeuvres before retiring to their own accommodation or making their way home.
